Seychelles Tourism Ministry Holds General Manager’s Forum with Industry Leaders
VICTORIA, Seychelles — The Seychelles Tourism department within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Tourism yesterday met with key industry leaders in a General Manager’s Forum to discuss the future of Seychelles tourism, share critical updates and explore opportunities for growth. The forum, chaired by Minister Sylvestre Radegonde, is part of the ministry’s ongoing efforts to engage with private sector members from larger properties and to drive sustainable growth.
Held at the Payanke Lounge Seychelles at the International Airport, Pointe Larue, the forum saw the participation of general managers from large and medium-size hotels on Mahé and the inner islands. Discussions covered the upcoming ITB Berlin 2025 (4-6 March) where a 30-strong delegation from 15 tourism-related businesses will showcase Seychelles, as well as broader questions of sustainable growth, marketing reach and connectivity to key source markets in Europe and beyond.
Minister Radegonde noted that while visitor arrivals in 2024 came in slightly below the target of 430,000, the total of 384,895 still represented an 11% increase on 2023. Tourism revenue is estimated to reach US$839 million in 2025, higher than in 2024 despite the lower visitor count, reflecting the shift towards higher-value travellers. The forum is expected to become a regular engagement mechanism between the ministry and the industry, allowing for faster coordination on regulatory issues, marketing campaigns, training needs and crisis response.
