Emirates Expands Flights to Madagascar to Six Weekly Services from April 2025

VICTORIA, Seychelles — Emirates has announced a significant expansion of its services to Madagascar, increasing its weekly flights from four to six starting on April 2, 2025.

The expansion follows the airline’s successful launch of services to the island nation in September 2024, which has seen strong demand for travel between Madagascar’s capital, Antananarivo, and Dubai. The announcement was made during a press conference held in Antananarivo and attended by representatives from Madagascar’s Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Tourism and Emirates. The increased frequency comes in response to nearly full capacity on the current four weekly flights, which have been well received by both leisure and business travellers.

The expansion is being watched closely in Seychelles, where Emirates is a major carrier for international connections via Dubai. Industry observers said the added capacity on the Antananarivo route could free up onward capacity to the Seychelles and ease pressure on regional connections to the Indian Ocean islands during the peak travel months.
