Six Young Seychellois Depart for India Youth Exchange Programme

VICTORIA, Seychelles — Six young Seychellois will today depart for India to take part in the Youth Exchange Programme of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) and the Republic Day celebrations. The participants — Shanon Arrisol, Valentina Confait, Lakisha Pierre, Immanuel Vidot, Nigel Matombe and Rohan Albert — were presented with their tickets by Indian High Commissioner Kartik Pande at a ceremony at the Indian High Commission yesterday.
They will be accompanied by Programme Officer Fatima Larue and are expected to return on 29 January. The exchange, which combines a structured programme with Republic Day events, is part of a long-standing cooperation between the Indian High Commission and Seychellois youth institutions.
Speaking at the send-off, High Commissioner Pande described the exchange as a reflection of the depth of the India-Seychelles relationship, and urged the participants to make the most of the cultural and educational experience. The young delegates will join counterparts from a number of other countries for the Republic Day parade and related activities in New Delhi.
For Seychelles, the programme is part of a wider push to give young people early exposure to international institutions and to deepen people-to-people links with key partners.
