SUM Announces Female Vice-Presidential Candidate for Upcoming Elections

VICTORIA, Seychelles — The Seychelles United Movement (SUM) has announced its female vice-presidential candidate, in a move that is expected to shape the dynamics of the upcoming elections. The announcement was made at a press conference attended by party supporters, civil society representatives, and the media, with the party’s leadership emphasising its commitment to gender equality and inclusive governance.

The candidate brings a wealth of experience from her career in the private sector and in the media, having worked at Absa Bank and as a journalist with the National Information Services Agency. Her candidacy is seen as a reflection of the party’s continued efforts to provide opportunities for women to serve at the highest levels of public office in Seychelles.

Party officials said the decision to nominate a female candidate is in line with SUM’s values and its long-term vision for the country. The candidate thanked the party for the trust placed in her, and called on the people of Seychelles to support the party’s vision for a stronger, more inclusive, and more prosperous country.
