Absa Seychelles Analyst Marlon Esparon Represents Nation at One Young World Summit in Munich
VICTORIA, Seychelles — Market Risk Analyst Marlon Esparon represented both Absa Seychelles and the nation at the One Young World Summit 2025 in Munich, joining more than 2,000 young leaders from 190 countries engaging on peace and security, human rights, leadership and ethical governance. The summit brought together delegates committed to addressing pressing global issues.
A highlight of the summit was Marlon’s participation in a closed mentorship session with Geordin Hill-Lewis, Mayor of Cape Town, which focused on public leadership, ethical governance and community-led policymaking. ‘It was honest, practical and transformative. Leadership must be lived — not performed,’ he shared, adding that representing Absa Seychelles and his country was both an honour and a life-changing experience. Key plenary sessions challenged delegates to rethink resilience, cooperation and courage in leadership.
Speaking on the initiative, Absa managing director Nazim Mahmood said: ‘At Absa, we believe we have a responsibility to be a force for good and to lead with purpose in addressing the increasingly complex challenges facing society today.’ Since returning, Marlon has begun applying his learnings within the workplace, contributing to initiatives aligned with Absa’s purpose of empowering Africa’s tomorrow, together.
