Indian High Commissioner Pays Courtesy Call on Speaker Azarel Ernesta

VICTORIA, Seychelles — The Indian High Commissioner to Seychelles, Rohit Rathish, has paid a courtesy call on the Speaker of the National Assembly, Azarel Ernesta, at the institution’s headquarters in Victoria.

Discussions during the meeting centred on the need to revitalise the partnership between India and Seychelles, given the numerous areas of cooperation that exist between the two countries. The High Commissioner conveyed greetings from the Parliament of India and reiterated New Delhi’s commitment to working closely with the National Assembly.

Both sides noted the long-standing and multi-faceted nature of the bilateral relationship, which spans health, education, capacity building, and people-to-people exchanges. The High Commissioner also acknowledged the role of parliamentary diplomacy in strengthening ties between the two nations.

Speaker Ernesta thanked the High Commissioner for his visit and reaffirmed the National Assembly’s commitment to deepening engagement with India across all areas of mutual interest.
