Electoral Commission Confirms 182,600 Ballot Papers Printed for September Elections

VICTORIA, Seychelles — A total of 182,600 ballot papers, comprising 91,300 for the Presidential Election and 91,300 for the National Assembly Election, have already been printed for the elections scheduled for September 25 to 27, 2025. The corresponding templates have been destroyed and this event was witnessed by all political representatives present in Dubai yesterday.

The Electoral Commission of Seychelles (ECS) confirmed the milestone, noting that the printing and verification phases have gone smoothly. The first phase involved the political party representatives verifying the sample ballots, checking the logos, photos and names to ensure there were no errors before endorsing the process. The second phase, which involves packing and securing the ballots in the strong room, will take place once printing is complete.

The ECS has also announced a change in the return date of the delegation, which is now set for Monday, September 8, 2025, instead of Friday, September 5, 2025. The shift is due to a public holiday in Dubai on Friday and the cooling-off period requested by the airline before transporting the ballot papers. The Commission reiterated that the presence of party representatives at each stage of the process is crucial to ensure transparency and credibility.
