New Seychelles Hospital Fund Receives Around R248,000 Bringing Total Past R6 Million
VICTORIA, Seychelles — The New Seychelles Hospital Fund yesterday received a financial donation amounting to R247,900, bringing the total amount raised for the construction of a modern hospital to over R6 million. Vice-President Ahmed Afif accepted the cheques on behalf of the committee, with contributions from the Seychelles National Choir and the Chinese business community.
The National Choir raised R136,900 through its local shows, while the Chinese business community donated R111,000. Both contributions reflect the strong and ongoing support that the New Seychelles Hospital Fund continues to receive from across Seychellois society, including from cultural groups and the wider international business community based in the country.
The latest donations bring the running total raised for the construction of a modern hospital to over R6 million, marking an important milestone in the national fundraising effort. The Vice-President thanked both donors for their generosity and reiterated the government’s commitment to delivering a modern healthcare facility for the people of Seychelles. The New Seychelles Hospital Fund was set up to mobilise resources for the construction of a new national hospital, and continues to welcome contributions from individuals, organisations and the private sector.
