Demolition Works to Begin at Ex-Continental Building on Royal Street

VICTORIA, Seychelles — The Seychelles Pension Fund (SPF) has informed the public that demolition works will be undertaken within the compound of its property at the ex-Continental shop situated on Royal Street. The decision to demolish all building structures at the property follows a comprehensive structural assessment of their condition, safety and future development potential.

Given that the current infrastructure no longer meets structural or commercial viability standards, this process makes way for a new development at the property. In line with SPF’s long-term strategic goals, this is a step towards transforming the property into a more profitable asset for the SPF’s members. The demolition works are scheduled to start on Sunday July 27, 2025, with completion expected within a period of three months.

SPF is working closely with the relevant authorities to ensure that all activities are carried out safely and with minimal disruption to the surrounding community. Members of the public have been advised to adhere to safety notices and road signages that will be in place during the demolition period. SPF thanked members of the public for their understanding and cooperation as it embarks on this redevelopment initiative.
