Countdown Begins: Experts Give Thumbs-Up to Seychelles’ Readiness for CJSOI Games

With the clock ticking down to the 13th Commission de la Jeunesse et des Sports de l’Océan Indien (CJSOI) Games, set to kick off in under two months, Seychelles has received a glowing review from a team of visiting experts. Their verdict? The venues are shaping up well—and fast.

A delegation from participating member countries spent Friday morning touring all the designated sites, getting a firsthand look at ongoing renovations and facility upgrades. Their overall reaction was one of satisfaction, with several officials noting that Seychelles is on track to deliver a well-organized and spirited event.

“The progress is impressive. We’ve seen that the host nation is taking this seriously, and we’re confident the athletes will have an excellent platform to compete,” said one visiting delegate.

The Games, which will feature youth athletes aged 14 to 17 competing in 11 different sporting disciplines, are expected to bring together some of the region’s brightest young talents for a week of fierce competition and regional camaraderie.

As final preparations ramp up, the pressure is now on for Seychelles to not just meet expectations—but exceed them. All eyes will be on the islands come August.
