Dedicated Racing Track Set for Completion in August, Says Transport Minister

Victoria, Seychelles — Seychelles’ car racing community is set to shift gears as the country’s first dedicated racing track nears completion. According to Transport Minister Antony Derjacques, the project is on track to be finalized by August 2025.

The announcement was made during Tuesday’s session of the National Assembly in response to a question from Baie Lazare MNA François Adelaide. Minister Derjacques confirmed that once completed, the track will provide a legal and controlled environment for car racing enthusiasts, marking a milestone for motorsport development in the country.

The initiative is expected to reduce illegal street racing and offer a safer alternative for high-speed driving while promoting motorsport as an organized recreational activity.

Further details about the track’s location, regulations, and operational framework are expected to be released closer to the launch. Racing fans across the country have welcomed the news, calling it a long-overdue step toward recognizing and regulating their passion.
