Limitless Art Association Debuts: Celebrating Creativity Without Boundaries

Victoria, Seychelles – The newly established Limitless Art Association has marked its inaugural appearance with the opening of an exhibition showcasing the diverse works of its members. The launch took place last week at the gallery of the National Arts and Crafts Council of Seychelles, where the exhibition will be hosted for a month.
The association brings together individuals from across Seychelles, each contributing unique artistic talents. In an interview, Danilo Albert, vice-chairperson of the association and an artist himself, explained the vision behind its creation: “We have united to form an association that appreciates and values art.”
He emphasised that the group includes members with varying physical health conditions alongside those who are physically able, all contributing their creativity. “Through this exhibition, we aim to acknowledge artists seeking a platform for their work to be seen and appreciated,” he added.
Art Without Barriers
Among the exhibitors is Marie Clarisse, one of the longest-standing members of the association. She expressed her pride in being part of a community that embraces art without barriers: “It is gratifying to have a space where my artistic interests are welcomed, especially at my age. I am proud to be part of such a transformative movement.”
In addition to her paintings, Mrs Clarisse is also a writer, poet, and occasional singer, with decades of dedication to the arts. “My work has often gone unnoticed, but now I have the opportunity to showcase it. I feel honoured to be among the pioneers taking this step,” she concluded.
Another member, Michel Barrack, focuses on creating designs from recyclable materials. “I have been part of the artistic domain for nearly 20 years, and following my accident, it has been challenging to present my art. Now, with the support of the association, I can do so,” he shared.
He hopes the exhibition will inspire youth and others to showcase their talents without fear: “This launch is about empowering artists to embrace their creativity.”
Community Response
Guest Alexander Rene praised the initiative: “This is genuinely innovative and serves as a platform for unrecognised artists. I hope the youth see this as an opportunity to pursue their artistic aspirations without limitations.”
The exhibition invites the public to admire the creativity and dedication of Seychellois artists. “This is the moment for all Seychellois to support our local artists and appreciate the beauty of their talents,” concluded vice-chairperson Albert.
The launch was also attended by Cecile Kalebi, principal secretary for the Department of Culture.
