President Herminie Visits Maritime Security Coordination Centres at Bois de Rose
VICTORIA, Seychelles — President Patrick Herminie carried out a familiarisation visit on Tuesday morning to two key maritime security centres based at Bois de Rose: the Regional Coordination of Operations Centre Seychelles and the National Information Sharing Coordination Centre.
The visit provided the President with an opportunity to be briefed on the operations, capabilities, and ongoing work of both centres, which play a central role in monitoring maritime activity in the Seychelles’ vast exclusive economic zone and in coordinating responses to maritime incidents in collaboration with regional and international partners.
Discussions during the visit focused on strengthening information sharing, enhancing surveillance capacity, and continuing to position Seychelles as a reliable partner in the fight against piracy, illegal fishing, and other transnational maritime threats in the Indian Ocean. The visit reflects the government’s continued commitment to safeguarding the country’s ocean territory.
