President Herminie Calls for Solidarity and Justice in New Year Message
VICTORIA, Seychelles — President Patrick Herminie has delivered his first New Year message to the nation, calling on all Seychellois to embrace solidarity, justice, and a future founded on equality for all. Addressing the country in Creole, the President said 2025 marked a new chapter in the nation’s history, in which the people chose solidarity, justice, and a future founded on equality for all.
‘In this moment of transition, between a year that is ending and a new year that is beginning, I address you not just as citizens, but as one great Seychellois family, scattered and united across our islands and across the world,’ he said. He pledged to remain committed to working for the well-being of all Seychellois, and noted that since assuming responsibility as President, the government has begun to roll out important decisions that reflect the will of the people.
For 2026, President Herminie called on the nation to strengthen its faith, become more united, create more prosperity for each household, protect the ocean for future generations, and ensure that every community is filled with opportunity. He wished the nation a blessed 2026 filled with peace, health, and renewed hope.
