Faure Meets Egyptian Counterpart in Cairo to Deepen Bilateral Cooperation

VICTORIA, Seychelles — Minister for Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Barry Faure, met his Egyptian counterpart, Minister Badr Abdelatty, on the margins of the Second Russia-Africa Ministerial Conference in Cairo, to chart a new course for enhanced bilateral cooperation between the two African nations.

Minister Abdelatty opened the meeting by reiterating his government’s congratulations to the newly elected government of President Patrick Herminie, and expressed his personal felicitations to Minister Faure for his recent appointment. The high-level meeting focused on deepening the long-standing friendship between the two African nations. Both ministers reaffirmed their commitment to a strategic partnership across diplomacy and trade, sustainability, human capital, and economic drivers.

Minister Abdelatty highlighted Egypt’s role as a major emerging market and a developing mixed economy, noting that the synergy between private enterprise and state planning offers significant opportunities for joint ventures. The discussions underscored a shared vision for a more integrated and prosperous Africa, with both ministers pledging to maintain regular high-level exchanges.
