Minister Rose Praises Volunteers at International Volunteer Day Celebration

VICTORIA, Seychelles — Minister for Community Affairs Rose has praised the contribution of volunteers at an event to mark International Volunteer Day, in a ceremony that brought together volunteers, civil society organisations, and government officials. The Minister expressed her deepest appreciation to all those who give their time, energy, and skills to support communities across Seychelles.

‘Volunteering is a powerful expression of solidarity, and it plays a vital role in the social fabric of our country,’ said Minister Rose, in remarks that highlighted the impact of volunteers on the lives of the most vulnerable. The Minister noted that volunteering also provides meaningful opportunities for personal and professional growth, particularly for young people.

The Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting volunteering and to creating an enabling environment for civil society organisations. The ceremony ended with a call for more Seychellois to volunteer their time and to contribute to building a stronger, more inclusive, and more caring Seychelles.
