VICTORIA, Seychelles — ‘Coastal Breeze Residence’, a newly completed mid-range condominium housing project on Île Perseverance, was inaugurated on Friday afternoon with 32 families receiving the key to their new homes. The project marks the first mid-range condominium scheme of its kind to be completed in Seychelles, providing modern, owner-occupied housing in a price bracket that has historically been underserved.
The development forms part of government efforts to expand home-ownership opportunities for Seychellois families, particularly those who do not qualify for social housing but still find it difficult to access the traditional housing market. Each unit is designed to offer comfortable family living, with allocated parking, shared green spaces, and access to public transport links serving central Victoria and the eastern districts.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, officials from the relevant housing agency congratulated the new homeowners and reminded them of their responsibility to maintain the property and contribute to a well-kept community. Beneficiaries expressed their gratitude and excitement at finally owning a home, noting that the mid-range pricing made home-ownership a realistic goal. Authorities indicated that lessons from this pilot project will inform the next phases of condominium construction, with additional units planned in other parts of Mahé.
