Seychelles Fashion Week Designers Showcase Sustainable Local Talent
VICTORIA, Seychelles — The 2025 edition of Seychelles Fashion Week has drawn strong participation from designers, models, and creative entrepreneurs from across the Indian Ocean rim, with this year’s programme featuring a packed schedule of runway shows, pop-up exhibitions, and industry workshops. The event, which opened on November 18, is being held at La Plage, Beau Vallon, and brings together established names and emerging talent under one platform.
This year’s edition places particular emphasis on sustainable fashion and the use of locally sourced materials, reflecting a growing interest among Seychellois designers in environmentally conscious practice. Workshops and panel discussions have covered topics ranging from fashion business management to digital marketing for designers, providing practical support to emerging creatives. Industry partners from the region, including textile manufacturers and boutique owners, have also taken part in B2B sessions to explore opportunities for collaboration and export.
Organisers said the event has grown significantly since its launch, both in the number of participating designers and in the diversity of styles on display. The week’s programme culminates in a grand finale runway show and awards ceremony, with prizes for categories including Emerging Designer, Best Collection, and Model of the Year. Minister for Industry and Enterprise, Geralda Desaubin, said the government remains committed to supporting the creative industries as part of broader efforts to diversify the economy and create opportunities for young Seychellois.
