SDF Honours Long-Serving Members at Defence Forces Day Ceremony
VICTORIA, Seychelles — The Seychelles Defence Forces ceremony to mark Defence Forces Day, held on Tuesday at the Military Training and Support Centre at Île Perseverance, also honoured a number of individuals for their long and dedicated service to the force. The recognitions covered 25, 30, 35, and 40 years of service, spanning officers, other ranks, and civilian personnel.
Recognised for 25 years of service were Lieutenant Colonel Louis Agathine, Lieutenant Colonel Didace Hoareau, Warrant Officer I Joseph Morel, Major Jude Raoul, Warrant Officer I Nigel Dodin, and the civilians Gitane Ismael, Nilsen Ernest, Jacklin Wirtz, Sabrina Moustache, and Kevin Hertel. Honoured for 30 years of service were Colonel Michael Hollanda, Lieutenant Elvis Nourrice, Warrant Officer I Joseph Archange, and Sergeant Jourdan Rachel.
Recognised for 35 years of service were Warrant Officer I Douglas Leon, Warrant Officer I Jeffery Onezime, Warrant Officer I Gelison Matatiken, and Lance Corporal Alex Quatre. For 40 years of service, the award went to Warrant Officer I Jean Belle. The ceremony, held under the theme ‘Let us strive for excellence in unity and peace’, was an occasion to salute the contribution of long-serving members and to reinforce the values that bind the force together across generations of service.
