Anne Athanasius Launches New Book A Child of Fate at National Library
VICTORIA, Seychelles — A new book titled ‘A Child of Fate’, written by Anne H. Athanasius, was launched on Tuesday afternoon at the National Library in a warm gathering filled with emotion, laughter, and deep appreciation. Family members, friends, and close companions of Mrs Athanasius attended the launch, where she personally presented copies of the book to them, which she later signed.
Despite living with Parkinson’s disease, Mrs Athanasius kept the room lively, sharing jokes, memories, and heartfelt gratitude for every person who has played a role in her life. Many moments were marked by laughter, as she recounted stories from her childhood and adult life, offering lessons on values, faith, and resilience. The audience responded with warmth and applause, clearly moved by her courage and openness.
The book is described as a deeply personal account of her life journey, charting the challenges she has faced and the people who have shaped her along the way. Mrs Athanasius said she hoped the book would encourage others to embrace life’s difficulties with faith and humour, and to recognise the importance of community and family. Copies of ‘A Child of Fate’ are available at the National Library and selected bookshops.
