Bruna Johnson and Nathaniele Michel Honoured as Longest-Serving Postal Workers

VICTORIA, Seychelles — Two of the longest-serving members of staff at Seychelles Postal Services (SPS), Bruna Johnson and Nathaniele Michel, were honoured during the organisation’s long service award ceremony held on Thursday at the STC conference room. The event was organised to commemorate World Post Day.
Bruna Johnson, currently a senior postwoman, joined SPS in 1985. ‘This was my first job and it will also be my last, as I plan to retire in this position. I started as a Postwoman in May 1990, and in March 2004 I was promoted to Senior Postwoman. With perseverance, I was able to achieve what I have today. You must have love for your work if you want to stay that long,’ she said. She has attended various training programmes in service delivery, change management and customer service, and urged young people ‘to have love for their work. Do not run only after money. You must also have passion for what you do. To my colleagues, I keep saying: don’t give up, keep going.’
The other 35-year awardee, Nathaniele Michel, was absent from the ceremony. She also joined SPS in May 1990 as a postwoman at the Anse Royale post office. In December 2014, she was promoted to senior postwoman, and later, in July 2017, transferred to senior postal assistant at the central post office’s sorting office.
The ceremony also recognised four staff members who celebrated 25 years of service – Leonard Ernesta, Nicole Freminot, Daniella Moumou and Jenette Renaud – along with two who marked 10 years, one who completed 10 years, and three who celebrated five years with SPS.
