Voting Continues on Outer Islands and at Special Polling Stations
VICTORIA, Seychelles — Voting in the Seychelles Presidential and National Assembly elections continued on Friday, with polling stations opening for voters on the outer islands and for essential service personnel on Mahé. The main polling day is scheduled for Saturday, September 27, 2025.
On Thursday, the first day of the three-day exercise was reserved for special polling stations. On Mahé, the English River School and La Rosière creche served essential services workers, while the North East Point Home for the Elderly and the Remand Centre in Perseverance catered for residents and detainees respectively. On Praslin, a special station was set up at the Baie Ste Anne primary school. On the outer islands, voters on Astove, Assomption, Farquar, Poivre, D’Arros, Denis Island, Bird Island and Fregate Island cast their ballots.
According to the Voters Register, 77,045 people are eligible to vote during the three-day exercise. The Electoral Commission of Seychelles has urged voters to bring valid identification and to confirm their assigned polling station in advance.
Election observers, party agents and security personnel have been deployed across all stations. The ECS said it will publish preliminary results on its official channels once counting is complete on Saturday night.
