President Ramkalawan Receives Seychelles Defence Forces Annual Report 2024

VICTORIA, Seychelles — President Wavel Ramkalawan, in his capacity as Commander-in-Chief of the Seychelles Defence Forces (SDF), has officially received the SDF Annual Report for the 2024 fiscal year.
The report was formally presented to the President by the Chief of Defence Forces, Major General Michael Rosette. It provides a comprehensive account of the Defence Forces’ operational activities, capacity-building efforts, financial management and strategic developments undertaken throughout 2024.
In receiving the report, President Ramkalawan commended the leadership, men and women of the SDF for their professionalism, dedication and resilience in safeguarding the sovereignty and security of the nation. He acknowledged continued progress in strengthening operational readiness, building partnerships and upholding good governance within the defence sector.
The Office of the President said the annual report will serve as an important tool in shaping future strategies and investments aimed at ensuring the SDF’s effectiveness in meeting both present and emerging challenges. The President reaffirmed his support, as Commander-in-Chief, towards providing the necessary resources to maintain operational excellence and contribute to national development. Major General Rosette, on behalf of the Defence Forces Council, expressed gratitude for the government’s consistent support.
