Lalyans Nouvo Sesel Completes Two Weeks of Campaign Blitzes Across the Islands
VICTORIA, Seychelles — Lalyans Nouvo Sesel (LNS) has completed a two-week series of campaign blitzes spanning Mahé, Praslin and La Digue, taking its presidential and vice-presidential candidates directly into neighbourhoods to meet voters ahead of the September 27 election.
The party said its candidates walked for hours alongside supporters, including members of other parties they met on the same boats and at the same stops. According to the party, the warmth of the crowds on La Digue and Praslin confirmed that Seychellois are ready for a leadership rooted in connection and presence rather than distance.
LNS released its manifesto before any of its rivals, arguing that voters deserve to know what candidates are offering. The party criticised the two established parties for their silence on Truth, Reconciliation and National Unity Commission (TRNUC) compensation, and accused one of them of voting against asset declarations for ministers’ family members while publicly preaching transparency. ‘Leadership is about accountability, not distractions,’ the party said in a statement, adding that both old parties have failed to ease the cost of living, cut bureaucracy or end wasteful spending.
The blitzes focused on housing, fisheries, education, healthcare, the drug crisis and the cost of living, which the party described as the issues that matter most to ordinary families. LNS said it is ready to govern with courage, experience and integrity, and called on voters to choose “real change that works for all of us”.
