Electoral Commission Receives Consignment of 182,600 Ballot Papers
VICTORIA, Seychelles — Eighteen days before Seychellois go to the polls, the Electoral Commission Seychelles has received the consignment of ballot papers that will be used during the Presidential and National Assembly elections set for September 25 to 27, 2025. The 182,600 ballots printed in Dubai comprise 91,300 papers for the Presidential Election and 91,300 for the National Assembly Election. The consignment arrived in the country on board the Emirates flight EK 709 from Dubai yesterday afternoon.
On arrival, the ballot papers were transported under tight security to the ECS headquarters, where they will remain in safe custody until they are distributed to polling stations across the country in the days leading up to the election. The arrival marks a major milestone in the Commission’s election logistics operation, alongside the prior printing, packing and verification steps that were witnessed in Dubai by representatives of all political parties and independent candidates.
The Braille versions of the ballots are also included in the consignment, allowing visually impaired voters to cast their ballots independently. The ECS has said it will continue to keep the public informed of all key milestones in the lead-up to polling day, including the distribution of sensitive materials, the training of election officials and voter education initiatives. Elections 2025 will be held from September 25 to 27, 2025.
