Wendy Didon Leads ECS Press Conference on Election Calendar

VICTORIA, Seychelles — Chairperson of the Electoral Commission of Seychelles (ECS) Wendy Didon led a press conference at the commission’s Mont Fleuri headquarters to outline the official calendar for the 2025 Presidential and National Assembly elections. Joining her were chief electoral officer Manuella Amesbury, chief registration officer Sheena Max, and senior legal officer Florie Benstrong.
Didon announced that nomination day for the Presidential election will be August 19, 2025, and for the National Assembly election August 22, 2025, with the voters’ register to close on July 19, 2025. The poll itself is scheduled for September 25 to 27, 2025. The chairperson emphasised that all logistical arrangements are on track, and the commission will continue its voter education drive to maximise registration before the deadline.
The ECS called on political parties, civil society and the public at large to engage constructively in the electoral process, and reminded media houses of the commission’s code of conduct for fair and accurate reporting of election-related matters.
