University of Seychelles and University of Nottingham Strengthen Research Ties

VICTORIA, Seychelles — The University of Seychelles (UniSey) and the University of Nottingham have taken a further step in strengthening their collaboration, with a five-day working visit by a Nottingham delegation led by Professor Proochista Ariana. The visit, which took place last week, included meetings with the vice-chancellor of UniSey, Joëlle Perreau, and the Dean of the Faculty of Innovation and Research, Dr Justin Zelime.

The collaboration aims to strengthen ties between the two universities in research, teaching, and student exchange. The visit included discussions on joint research projects, the development of new academic programmes, and the possibility of staff and student mobility between the two institutions. The University of Nottingham has been a long-standing partner of UniSey, and this latest visit is part of ongoing efforts to deepen the relationship.

Speaking after the meetings, Dr Zelime said the visit was an important opportunity to share experiences and to explore new avenues of collaboration. ‘We are particularly interested in areas such as marine science, climate change, and sustainable development, which are central to both our institutions,’ he said. The University of Nottingham is one of the UK’s leading research universities and has a strong track record in global health, education, and the sciences. UniSey is expected to benefit from the partnership through access to Nottingham’s research networks, funding opportunities, and academic resources.
