Register of Voters 2025 Certified with 73,627 Registered

VICTORIA, Seychelles — The Register of Voters 2025 was officially certified yesterday at the Electoral Commission headquarters in Mont Fleuri, having met all the requirements of the Elections Act. The number of registered voters now stands at 73,627, with 38,056 females and 35,571 males. Anse Etoile has the highest number of registered voters, with 2,080 females and 1,953 males. Port Glaud has the lowest number of registered voters, with 1,980 voters in total — 1,011 females and 969 males.

The list includes voters registered up to December 31, 2024. In 2024, 733 voters were added to the register, comprising 303 females and 430 males. The certification ceremony was attended by members of the Electoral Commission, representatives of political parties and electoral observers. The register is a critical document for any upcoming elections and provides the legal basis on which voters can exercise their democratic right.

Speaking at the certification ceremony, the chairperson of the Electoral Commission noted that the commission had worked diligently throughout 2024 to ensure that all eligible citizens were given the opportunity to register, including targeted outreach in the inner islands and a series of mobile registration drives in remote districts. The commission also introduced an online pre-registration facility in 2024, which proved popular with younger voters. The certified register will now be made available for public inspection at district administrator offices across the country, and any objections or appeals can be lodged during the prescribed period.
