President Ramkalawan Commends Elite Dance and Fitness Studio on UAE Competition Success
VICTORIA, Seychelles — President Wavel Ramkalawan welcomed students from the Elite Dance and Fitness Studio at State House on Thursday to congratulate them on their successful participation in the recent Global Performing Arts Alliance dance competition, hosted by Urdung International Academy in the United Arab Emirates.
The team won a gold, three silvers and two bronze awards, with two of its dancers securing scholarships for a summer camp to be hosted in August in the United Kingdom by the Global Performing Arts Alliance. The President commended the dancers and presented each of them with a token featuring Seychelles’ national flag. The director of the studio, Emma Mothée, said the visit was an incredible honour.
Mrs Mothée said the team had a fruitful discussion with the Head of State, including the future expansion of the studio into a school. Captain of the team, Erin Barra, expressed her appreciation for the President’s words of support, saying they had further motivated her as she aspires to become a professional dance instructor. The dancers gave a captivating display of the various choreographies showcased at the competition, with each performance highlighting their unique talents.
