President Ramkalawan Chairs High-Level Meeting on Access to Financing
VICTORIA, Seychelles — President Wavel Ramkalawan yesterday morning chaired a high-level meeting on access to financing at State House, accompanied by Vice-President Ahmed Afif and the Minister for Investment, Entrepreneurship and Industry, Devika Vidot.
The meeting, a follow-up to discussions held on December 19, 2024, brought together representatives of the Seychelles Bankers’ Association, the Central Bank of Seychelles and the Ministry of Finance, National Planning and Trade to address critical challenges in access to finance. In a press communique released after the meeting, the Office of the President said the gathering underscored the importance of collective effort and urged all parties to treat access to financing as a critical enabler of economic growth, job creation and a viable environment for Seychellois-owned businesses.
“The government reaffirms its dedication to fostering an equitable and enabling financial ecosystem for all citizens and businesses, ensuring that no one is left behind in the country’s journey toward sustainable development,” the communique read. The meeting concluded with a commitment to convene regular follow-up sessions in the coming months to assess progress and refine strategies where necessary.
