Remand Detainee Valentino Hoareau Charged with Multiple Offences

VICTORIA, Seychelles — Valentino Hoareau, 38, of Anse Royale, has been remanded in custody after appearing before the Magistrate’s Court in Victoria on multiple charges, including possession of a controlled substance with intent to supply, handling stolen goods, and burglary.

The accused was arrested by officers of the Seychelles Police Force following an intelligence-led operation in the south of Mahé. Items believed to have been stolen in a string of recent break-ins in the Anse Royale and Pointe Au Sel areas were recovered during a search of the suspect’s residence.

Police indicated that the arrest forms part of a sustained effort to tackle the supply of controlled substances in the district, where residents have repeatedly raised concerns about rising drug-related activity. The case has been adjourned pending further inquiries, and the accused is expected to appear in the Supreme Court later this month.

Members of the public with information about similar incidents are urged to contact the nearest police station or the anonymous crime hotline.
