An independent group of Seychellois conducted a poll to gauge public opinion on the upcoming 2025 presidential election.
The poll was distributed across multiple social media platforms, including Facebook and WhatsApp groups, to maximize participation. The data collection was facilitated by “My Polls” software from Aloask Technologies, ensuring a fair and anonymous process. Participants were presented with the three candidates who have publicly announced their candidacy:
– Seychelles United Movement : Mr. Maarco FRANCIS
– United Seychelles : Dr. Patrick HERMINIE
– Linyon Demokratik Seselwa : Mr. Wavel RAMKALAWAN
The poll was conducted over a three-day period, from Friday, 31st May 2024 at 12 pm, to Sunday, 2nd June 2024 at 6 pm. A total of 2277 people participated in the poll. Measures were implemented to ensure that no individual could vote more than once.
Results:
– SUM: Mr. Maarco FRANCIS
– 30.3% (689 votes)
– US: Dr. Patrick HERMINIE
– 38.2% (869 votes)
– LDS: Mr. Wavel RAMKALAWAN
– 31.6% (719 votes)
