First Lady Herminie Outlines Her Vision for Culture and Community Engagement

VICTORIA, Seychelles — First Lady Veronique Herminie has outlined her vision for the promotion of culture, youth empowerment, and community engagement, in remarks that highlight the priorities she intends to pursue during her time as First Lady. ‘I want to contribute in promoting culture and supporting our youth,’ said the First Lady, in a message that reflects her personal commitment to national development.

The First Lady noted that her parents were quite protective, and that she made the most of the opportunities available to her, including engaging with like-minded young people and artists in sports and culture. She said these experiences shaped her outlook and her desire to give back to the country as First Lady.

‘Whatever initiatives we pursue, we will do so in partnership with communities, civil society, and the government,’ said the First Lady, reaffirming her commitment to working with all stakeholders. The First Lady’s vision is expected to inform her engagements with cultural institutions, schools, and community organisations in the months ahead.
