New Cuban Ambassador Accredited at State House
VICTORIA, Seychelles — Iraida de la Caridad Guerrero Zuniga is the new Cuban ambassador to Seychelles, following the presentation of her credentials to the President, Dr Patrick Herminie, yesterday morning at State House.
After her courtesy call on the Head of State, Ambassador Guerrero Zuniga expressed her gratitude to the government and people of Seychelles for the support Cuba has received over the years. She highlighted the historic relationship between the two countries and reaffirmed her commitment to strengthening cooperation at both bilateral and multilateral levels.
The ambassador also shared the latest statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba that the economic warfare against Cuba is being strengthened, in reference to the long-standing United States embargo. The term of Ambassador Guerrero Zuniga will be four years.
A seasoned diplomat, she has previously served in Panama, Barcelona, and Granada, and brings extensive experience in Latin American and Caribbean affairs to her new posting.
