Festival Kreol Committee Expresses Satisfaction with 40th Edition Participation

VICTORIA, Seychelles — The Festival Kreol committee has expressed satisfaction with the participation in the activities organised as part of the 40th edition of Festival Kreol, and said it hoped the momentum would continue in the same spirit. The committee made the remarks during a press conference held on Wednesday morning at the International Conference Centre Seychelles (ICCS), where it also gave more details on the remaining activities still to come.

Activities to close the 40th Festival Kreol officially started on Friday October 17 with a launch at the Domaine de Val des Pres craft village, and will officially end on Sunday November 2 with a final thanksgiving mass at the Immaculate Conception Cathedral, followed by a closing ceremony at 3pm at the ICCS. The committee noted that the highlights of the festival so far have included the official launch, the batenm poupet ceremony, the inter-school discourse competition, and the various district-level activities held in collaboration with the district administrations.

Members of the public are invited to continue participating in the remaining days of the festival, which include cultural performances, culinary competitions, art exhibitions and traditional games. The committee said it was pleased with the strong turnout of young people and looked forward to working with partners to deliver an equally successful 41st edition next year.
