Victoria Bypass Classification Gazetted Under Road Act

VICTORIA, Seychelles — The Ministry of Transport has announced that, in accordance with the Road Act, Act 25 of 1902, the Road Act Classification of Victoria Bypass Order, 2025, and CAP 205 — Notice to Prescribe Building Line, have been officially published in the Government Official Gazette.

Minister for Transport Antony Derjacques has confirmed that the actions form part of the government’s continued commitment to improving national transport infrastructure, noting that the need for a continuous highway linking key parts of the country has been a long-standing priority.

The classification of the bypass is expected to provide clarity on land use and building restrictions along the corridor, while supporting the long-term planning of road connections serving the capital. The official gazetting means the measures are now legally in force.

The ministry is expected to provide further details on the implementation of the bypass classification and related infrastructure works in due course.
