Voters’ Register Certified With 77,045 Names Ahead of September Elections

VICTORIA, Seychelles — The Electoral Commission of Seychelles has officially certified the Register of Voters ahead of the presidential and legislative elections, which will take place on September 25, 26 and 27, 2025. This year the register contains 77,045 voters, comprising 39,792 females and 37,253 males, a figure that represents an increase in new registrations compared to the previous elections.

The certification took place at the Commission’s headquarters in Mont Fleuri, where the register was formally certified by Mrs Max before being handed over to the Chief Electoral Officer, Mrs Manuella Amesbury. The certified register now becomes the definitive list of Seychellois eligible to cast their ballots over the three days of polling next month.

The certification marks one of the final administrative milestones in the electoral calendar before the country heads to the polls to elect the next President of the Republic and the members of the National Assembly. The Commission is expected to publish further logistical details, including the list of polling stations, in the coming weeks, and has encouraged voters to verify their registration details ahead of polling day.
