Electoral Commission Sets August Nomination Dates for 2025 Elections

VICTORIA, Seychelles — The Electoral Commission of Seychelles (ECS) has announced that official nomination dates for the Presidential and National Assembly elections will be August 19, 2025 and August 22, 2025 respectively, with voter registration to close on July 19, 2025. ECS chairperson Wendy Didon made the announcement during a press conference yesterday morning at the commission’s headquarters in Mont Fleuri.

Also present at the press conference were chief electoral officer Manuella Amesbury, chief registration officer Sheena Max, senior legal officer Florie Benstrong, and other members of the commission. Seychelles is set to hold its Presidential and National Assembly elections from September 25 to 27, 2025. The delegation also briefed the media on the operational timelines and logistical arrangements for the upcoming polls, including voter education activities planned in the run-up to nomination day.

The ECS urged all eligible voters who have not yet registered to do so before the July 19 deadline, and reminded political parties and prospective candidates to begin preparations in line with the published electoral calendar.
