President Herminie Appoints Six New Ambassadors to Represent Seychelles Abroad

VICTORIA, Seychelles — President Patrick Herminie has proceeded with the presentation of credentials to six new ambassadors of the Republic of Seychelles in an official ceremony held yesterday at State House. The six new ambassadors are Jacques Belle, Terry Romain, Jacqueline Moustache-Belle, André Pool, Patrick Victor, and Nicholas Préa.
This significant diplomatic appointment underscores Seychelles’ commitment to strengthening its international presence and advancing foreign policy objectives across multiple continents. The ambassadors bring diverse experience from public service, international organisations, and diplomatic missions.
The nomination of these ambassadors was approved by the National Assembly in December 2025. The presentation of credentials officially confers upon them the authority to represent the Republic of Seychelles abroad, promote national foreign policy objectives, and contribute to strengthening the country’s diplomatic presence and international partnerships.
Speaking to the new ambassadors, President Herminie congratulated them on their nomination and expressed his full confidence in their ability to assume their functions with distinction, integrity, and professionalism. He recalled that diplomacy plays a central role in promoting national interests, strengthening bilateral and multilateral cooperation, and strategically positioning Seychelles within the international community.
The ambassadors expressed gratitude for their appointments and outlined their priorities, including promoting Seychelles’ interests in Latin America, strengthening cultural exchanges, and deepening regional partnerships. They emphasised their commitment to transforming diplomatic opportunities into concrete actions for the benefit of the nation.
The government extends its best wishes to the new ambassadors as they enter into function.
