Seychelles welcomes Discover Airlines as 15th international carrier

VICTORIA, Seychelles — The Minister for Transport, Antony Derjacques, has welcomed the recent approval issued by the Seychelles Civil Aviation Authority for the commencement of flights by Discover Airlines, scheduled to begin in October 2025.

In a statement, Minister Derjacques described the development as another milestone in his ministry’s ongoing efforts to secure new operators on the Seychelles route. “This translates to an augmented capacity of 220,200 seats on the route for 2025, representing a 14 per cent increase over 2024,” he said.

With the addition of Discover Airlines, Seychelles will have a total of 15 carriers conducting international flights by the end of October 2025, broadening choice for visitors and supporting the country’s ambitions as a year-round destination.

Industry observers note that the expansion arrives at a time when several European carriers have been adjusting capacity to Indian Ocean routes. The ministry said it expects further announcements in the coming months as ongoing negotiations with other airlines reach conclusion.
