VICTORIA, Seychelles — Tourism operators in Seychelles are reporting a strong surge in late-summer bookings, with several mid-range establishments recording high occupancy rates for the August to October period. The improvement is being attributed to a combination of new air access, competitive packages and sustained interest from European source markets.
Industry stakeholders said the launch of additional flight options from key European hubs, alongside aggressive marketing campaigns in priority markets, has helped to lift forward bookings compared with the same period last year. Smaller establishments on the islands of Mahé, Praslin and La Digue have also been reporting steady walk-in traffic, supported by the return of cruise calls.
The Seychelles Tourism Board said it would continue to work closely with the trade to convert the current momentum into a strong high season, while focusing on service quality, sustainability and the diversification of source markets. Officials also noted that visitor satisfaction surveys remain a key performance indicator, and that recent feedback has been broadly positive.
