Cool Moves: STC Unveils High-Tech Cold Storage Facility at Bois de Rose

The Seychelles Trading Company (STC) has flipped the switch on its newest state-of-the-art cold storage facility, officially inaugurated this week at Bois de Rose in a ceremony attended by President Wavel Ramkalawan and Vice President Ahmed Afif.
The facility represents a major leap forward in the country’s food logistics infrastructure, promising not only improved storage capacity but also better preservation standards to ensure greater food security for Seychelles.
“This is not just about refrigeration—it’s about resilience,” said STC CEO Christine Joubert. “We are now in a better position to stabilise supply chains, reduce spoilage, and lower costs for consumers in the long run.”
Boasting modern temperature-control systems and expanded capacity, the facility is designed to hold a wide variety of perishable goods—an essential upgrade as Seychelles grapples with rising import demands and global supply chain vulnerabilities.
President Ramkalawan hailed the development as a strategic asset for national planning, saying: “This is an investment in the future of our people’s well-being and our economy. It’s infrastructure that works for everyone.”
With this latest milestone, STC signals its intent to remain a key player in securing the nation’s food supply, one chilled container at a time.
