President Rallies Local Media to Spotlight Upcoming CJSOI Games in Seychelles

With Seychelles preparing to host the Commission de la Jeunesse et des Sports de l’Océan Indien (CJSOI) Games this August, President Wavel Ramkalawan has issued a clear call to action: local media, step up and shine the spotlight.

Speaking ahead of the regional youth sporting event, the President urged all media houses to actively promote and cover the Games, emphasizing their importance for national pride, youth development, and Seychelles’ role on the Indian Ocean stage.

“This is not just about sports,” Ramkalawan said. “It’s about showing the world what our young people are capable of and what Seychelles can achieve when we come together.”

The Games, set to take place in early August, will bring together athletes aged 14 to 17 from across the Indian Ocean region. With events spanning multiple disciplines and a spotlight on youth achievement, the Games present a major opportunity for Seychelles to celebrate talent, unity, and regional solidarity.

Officials hope strong media engagement will not only boost turnout and morale but also build lasting public interest in youth sports.

With just weeks to go, the race is now on—not just for medals, but for visibility. Seychelles, it’s game time.
