VICTORIA, Seychelles — Seychelles has welcomed a new batch of young professionals under the Graduate Attachment Programme, an initiative that places recent graduates in public and private sector institutions to gain meaningful work experience. The programme, which is run by the Department of Employment, continues to be a key pathway into the labour market for Seychellois youth.
Officials said the latest cohort includes graduates from a range of disciplines, including business, ICT, health, education, and the creative industries. Participants will be attached to host institutions for a fixed term, with mentorship and on-the-job training provided to help them transition from academic study to professional employment.
The Department of Employment noted that the programme has been successful in helping young Seychellois secure long-term employment, with many former attachés going on to build careers in their host institutions or in the wider economy. The new batch was urged to take full advantage of the opportunity and to demonstrate the skills and attitude of a productive workforce.
