VICTORIA, Seychelles — Eleven army officers have been promoted and two others commissioned in a special annual promotion and commissioning ceremony held at State House, in the presence of President Patrick Herminie, who also serves as Commander-in-Chief of the Seychelles Defence Forces (SDF).
The highest-ranking officers to be promoted were Major Irene Pompée, Major Jude Manders, and Major Hans Radegonde, who rose to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. The promotion was carried out in accordance with existing criteria for advancement within the Seychelles Defence Forces.
Speaking after the ceremony, President Herminie commended the officers for their dedication and professionalism. The ceremony was attended by Vice-President Vincent Pillay and senior SDF personnel. A souvenir photograph was taken with the promoted and commissioned officers to mark the occasion.
According to a press release issued after the event, the promotions reflect the continued strengthening of the Seychelles Defence Forces and the recognition of service rendered by the officers over the years.
