Government Reviews Affordable Housing Delivery in Districts

VICTORIA, Seychelles — As part of its continued commitment to addressing the housing needs of Seychellois families, the department of Lands and Housing has stepped up its on-site monitoring of housing projects across the islands, with secretary of state Joseph François leading visits to several sites on Mahé and Praslin.

The visits, which included the Brillant housing project, the mid-range condominium project in Perseverance, and a housing project in Grand Anse Praslin, were aimed at assessing the progress of ongoing works, identifying challenges in delivery, and engaging with residents and prospective beneficiaries on issues affecting their communities.

On Praslin, the delegation was joined by Hon. Churchill Gill and Hon Alvin Grandcourt, members of the National Assembly, who welcomed the direct engagement with the department. The site visits form part of the department’s continuous monitoring and engagement process aimed at identifying solutions and determining the way forward for housing and land development across the islands.
