VICTORIA, Seychelles — The Seychelles Electoral Commission, led by its chairperson Wendy Didon and Chief Electoral Commissioner Manuela Amesbury, has formally submitted the post-election reports to President Patrick Herminie at the State House. The submission marks an important step in the country’s democratic process, in line with the requirement to submit the post-election report to the Head of State within 30 days.
At the outset of the meeting, President Herminie congratulated the Electoral Commission for what he described as the exemplary conduct of the elections, commending the institution for delivering a smooth, transparent, and credible process. The President noted that the conduct of the elections reflects well on the country’s democratic institutions.
President Herminie also revealed that on the day the results were announced, he accepted the reports from Ms Didon, in a ceremony that brought together the Commission’s leadership and senior government officials. The Commission thanked the President for his support and reaffirmed its commitment to working with all stakeholders to strengthen the country’s electoral system.
