VICTORIA, Seychelles — The first Bal Kreol held on Friday at the Seafront restaurant marked a successful start to a series of fund-raising activities organised by the National Information Services Agency. The ball forms part of preparations for the 50th anniversary celebrations of the newspaper, which will be marked in the coming year.
The evening brought together supporters, advertisers, partners, and members of the public for an authentic Creole experience, complete with live music from local bands Reloaded and Elements, traditional Creole food, and a welcoming atmosphere that encouraged guests to dance the night away. The Seafront venue provided a fitting backdrop, with the sea breeze adding to the relaxed island feel of the occasion.
Officials from the agency said the response exceeded expectations, and thanked the artists, sponsors, volunteers, and the public for their support. The success of the first Bal Kreol has set the tone for the rest of the fund-raising programme leading up to the anniversary. Further activities, including cultural evenings and community events, are expected to be announced in the coming months as NISA builds momentum towards the milestone year.
