Cruise Ship Mein Schiff 4 Makes Maiden Port Call at Port Victoria

VICTORIA, Seychelles — Mein Schiff 4 made its maiden port call at Port Victoria on Monday morning, signifying Seychelles’ increasing status as a premier cruise destination in the Indian Ocean. The vessel docked at Port Victoria at approximately 6am and departed the docks around 7pm.

Mein Schiff 4 is operated by TUI Cruises, a relatively new cruise line in Seychelles. The ship has an overall length of 293.2 metres and can accommodate 2,700 passengers, along with 1,000 crew members. Its arrival adds another major European brand to the growing list of cruise operators choosing Seychelles as a destination of choice, further strengthening the country’s cruise tourism segment.

Passengers on board had the opportunity to disembark and explore Victoria, with many visiting the market, the clock tower, and other cultural landmarks in the capital. Tour operators reported strong interest in shore excursions to Mahé’s beaches and nature reserves, including the Morne Seychellois National Park.

The maiden call of Mein Schiff 4 comes at a time when the cruise tourism sector is reporting a strong recovery and growth in the western Indian Ocean. Seychelles aims to expand its share of the regional cruise market through continued engagement with international cruise lines, with Port Victoria positioned as a key turnaround and homeport destination in the Indian Ocean.
