Bel Ombre Officially Opens New Two-Storey District Administration Office

VICTORIA, Seychelles — Bel Ombre has a new district administration office, which was officially opened in a short ceremony on Wednesday afternoon. The unveiling of the commemorative plaque was done by President Wavel Ramkalawan and the Minister for Local Government and Community Affairs, Rose-Marie Hoareau, while the cutting of the ribbon was performed by President Ramkalawan, Minister Hoareau, former member of the National Assembly for Bel Ombre, Sandy Arissol, and former district administrator for Bel Ombre, Tahiri Laurencine.

The newly built two-storey building replaces the old district administration office and is expected to provide a more modern and accessible space for the delivery of public services to residents of Bel Ombre and surrounding areas. The new facility includes offices for the district administrator and staff, a meeting room, and improved facilities for members of the public visiting the office to access services.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Hoareau said the new office reflects the government’s commitment to bring services closer to the people, and to ensure that district offices across the country are well equipped to serve their communities. She thanked all those who contributed to the project, and called on residents to take ownership of the new facility and to use it to access the services that are available to them.

President Ramkalawan and other dignitaries were given a tour of the building following the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
